December 27th - The Fluffy & Tamara Show 4

The Fluffy & Tamara Show 4
The One with Poo

Ok...this is going to be a trip into the surreal (and no mistake). I should maybe start by warning you that this show is subtitled 'The One With Poo' for a very good reason..Our hosts seem to be a bit...erm...anal about their waste.

Look (or listen, if you prefer) this show needs listening to...it can't be justly summed up by some show note...really...go now and download it. If you still need to see some of the topics covered by the dynamic duo (and their randomly interjecting co-host, Cindy B) then here is a quick summary:

How To Start A Show
Tequila, Tamara & habitual drunkeness
Shit
Motorbiking in Grand Theft Auto
Bum Germs, Thongs and Pillows
Cindys Poop Chart
New Years Celebrations
Pooh
Lees taste in music
Elf Lee & Maf

If you listen carefully you may also catch the rare, lesser-spotted singing Fluffy...you will have to be vigilant though, it's not on for long.

The One With The Girls

Wow...I knew it was gonna be a complicated affair, asking our favourite girls onto the show for a live skype conference, but holy moly!! it's a good job it's only once a year. I'm not sure my fragile ego could stand the whipping (Monkey Boy indeed!!)

I'll be honest with you, I didn't take show notes...there was just so much going on (so many girls, so little time) but I do know I had a blast...so I'm going to use this space to thank them all for joining me

Cindy, Fluffy and Tamara (see, alphabetical order...can't play favourites :) ) The show wouldn't be the same without your input throughout the year. Thank you for your loyal support... You know we only do it for you :P

I'd also like to thank all our listeners, new and old, who've come and gone (and come back again) over the years.

Below is a transcript of this years "T'was The Snug Before Christmas". All that remains is for me to remind you to join Fluffy and Tamara for their 4th show next week and we'll return in the new year.

Have A great Christmas Everybody

Twas the show before Christmas, the one with no Lee
Just Maf and the girls: Fluffy & T.
The Skype chat connected, they started with care,
hoping Cindy and Roach would join them there.

So our listeners all nestled with Snug in their heads,
As the show kept them all from their sleep and their beds.
And Maf carried on with nary a nod,
Just stopping for breath to say “That’s a bit odd”

Fluffy and T control the forum and blog
So they get special mentions from Radio Gods.
But others are nearly as important as they,
So we must give them mention so they don’t go away.

But Maf knows he’ll forget one, some damn VIP,
and he hopes you’ll forgive him, if it is to be thee.
With a nod and a “w e l l...” he cleared out his brain,
And he saw what would fit, and called them by name!

"Now Roachster! Rebeccah Unknown VNV!
On, Ayrsie! On, Snoozey And on CindyB!
Even Pirate Dave who is rarely sighted!
will catch us on "MyFaceTubeSpaceBookReunited!"

Though we know not, what next year will bring,
We’re certain we’ll continue to talk nonsense and sing.
One way or another it, may even be better,
And who knows, it’s possible, we may get letters!

And so, as the show finally draws to an end,
And I finish the rhyme for our listeners, our friends.
I’ve only one thing to say, It seems only right,
"Happy Christmas to all, I’ve been Maf, These have been The Girls,
Thank you and good-night!"

The One With Youtube

After an auspicious (and somewhat ice-filled) starting ramble we suddenly realise that this is Lee's last show before Christmas...he's skipping out on next weeks show for a works Christmas Do (sheesh). Stay tuned to find out how the plans for next weeks show evolve.

For those Fans Of The Snug Fans Blog who were wondering what's happened to the last blog or two, T sent us this small excuse:

The night before Snug in T's taxi shack
two monkeys were sleeping while T munched a snack

She sat and she pondered the lack of a blog.
No excuse could she muster - she'd been a bump on a log

Turns out that poor T caught a terrible ill
she fought it with all of her might and her will

And now she just sits there, the blog still undone
she sees that the time is fast approaching one

this dreaded disease that she hopes, now, has passed?
no offence, you guys but she Couldn't Be Assed.

We talk about a few thing tonight that feature on Youtube...so here are some of the links for your enjoyment.

The Toddler Song - LINK
The Secret of Monkey Island - LINK
The Lambrini 'Snake' - LINK

We hear the sad news about a friend of Lees drowning.

We struggle again with the identity of our mystery listener, VNV

We marvel at the comedy genius of Basil Brush and Lee cracks open the Bounty 6 pack he's brought....those of you who don't like hearing a person talk with his mouth full should probably turn off for a few minutes :)

Go and enter The Christmas Caption Competitions...There's 3 of them and you can enter as many times as you like...however, we're not sure what the prize it yet) :D

Maf Moans on about Flatliners questions again but then we tangentially move onto
Animal testing, Guinea Pigs and the chariot-riding hunting tribes of Salt Spring Island.

All of a sudden there's some violence in a local pub...then Maf gets a listeners age wrong!! but tells us of his Queen concerts experiences and soon we're finding out about the 2nd most famous reindeer of all, Olive.

Don't forget about sending us your top 5's...you're still slacking off...why not leave us an audio top 5 on our Mychingo button on our home page...go on...you know you want to.

While we're on the subject...Not had any Christmas wishes on Mychingo yet...It looks like you don't care about your fellow listeners...why not Mychingo them now?

The One With A Complete Green Onions

For you podcast listeners who always miss it, we do a complete RIAA-Baiting version of Green onions (ooh we'll get letters!!)

In tonights show we find out what happens when Maf falls up stairs, what measuring system Darth Vader uses and the intricacies of Cheese Soup (much to the disgust of some of our cheese hating listeners)

We also hear what happens when Lee calls a problem customer from work...only to find they've moved (quickly and quietly) leaving a trail of bad debt which then lets Maf actually tell the cold caller story he missed from last week (see last entry).

How does Maf spend the run up to Flatliners? (and what is Flatliners?). Find out about the excruciatingly difficult 2007 Flatliners quiz

Don't forget about sending us your top 5's...you were all great on the first week...but now you're slacking off...why not leave us an audio top 5 on our Mychingo button on our home page...go on...you know you want to.

The One With Innuendo

Early in the show we get sent Puff the Magic Dragon - and what an experience it is too :)

Puppy returns as a listener, marking the 2nd listener in as many months to return...is it due to the long winter nights :)

After bragging about not getting hangovers, Tamara comes in for a gentle ribbing due to her weekend Tequila antics....you really need to check out the forum for the full story, but here's a link to the offending drunk messaging - LINK

While we're on the subject of the Forum, this post warmed my heart:

Posted: Wed Nov 28, 2007 6:00 pm Post subject:

I pissed a cold caller off so much that they rang me back to tell me they were pissed off!!!

The One With Top 5's

There's lots of talk about photos tonight: Pictures of Me And Lee and Fluffy and another of Inga the Swedish Cow-girl

After much haranguing from Lee (and after listening back to the show) I think it's only fair to put the serial killer picture here...

We suggest in passing that T looks like Michael Jackson on her webcam which offends her (in a comedy way) so she turns off her webcam out of spite

When Cindyb joins us she has mini-Cindyb in tow...Hello youngest live listener tonight, Natalie

We introduce a new slot...The Snug Top Fives. In a spark of uniqueness and originality, we're looking for your top 5s....of anything. we provide some suggestions but head on over to the forum to give us your own...preferably something we can play some audio too

The One With Scrabble

Try as we might theres no way we can get far into the show without bringing up Tamaras brain damaged pussy... It's one of those "really funny after the fact cos no one is seriously hurt" type stories. Our favourite!!

Check out why Lee wanted to be called Bomber or Gunner in his youth and learn what Maf jokingly called himself for a few months in school (attention seeker...moi?)

Maf reviews Planet Terror in a few sections cos he keeps getting distracted...He does note, however, that Rose mcGowan has the strange ability to look like CindyB from some angles which puts an unusual spin on the film :)

Tamara suprises us with another "Snug Girl Listener" quiz...this time we do a little better...see the questions and how betterer we do over at this weeks Snug Fans Blog

From out of nowhere, the show decends into a Scrabble-fest courtesy of Lee and Facebook but we do still manage to fit in Heroes, Bionic Woman and Reaper, Mafs visit to Scarborough & York and our attempt to find the difference between unitards and leotards

Don't forget we're on Facebook now and our screen name is snugradio if you want be our friend...

The One With Roach

Lee is better after last weeks illness, he does, however, bust the myth about vomit and Carrots in no uncertain terms...maybe we should give a 'Strong Stomach' warning.

Yes, we've finally given in a registered on Facebook..as always, our screen name is snugradio if you want be our friend... It makes us wonder what will happen when all this social networking gets out of control and we end up with MyFacetubespacebook

On the upside...creating a Facebook account and adding some of our older addresses means that (big cheer everyone)...Roach is back. And it's damn fine to see her :D. Roach started listening 18 months or so as the result of being a friend of a Skypejacking (Rob) but she forgot all about us till now. Let's hope this show doesn't remind her why she stopped listening ;)

The Snug Girls Pop Quiz - Did you know the following activities can be attributed to our Holy Trinity of top 3 lady listeners:
  • Getting really drunk and biting your friends cheek
  • Sleeping in a phone box (booth)
  • Recording a CD that was available in public
  • Getting really really drunk and spending 2 days on their bathroom floor
  • Was nicknamed Satan at school
I have missed some so you'll have to listen to see who's guilty past shocks us most...I'm still stunned now and it's been more than 12 hours since the show!!!

The One With Lees Belches

Maf gives us his reviews of 'Flight of the living dead' and 'Transformers'. One is better than the other, listen to find out which

we briefly touch on last nights 'live' Halloween show before moving onto Lees new website...the party engine which leads us onto Snug Car Stickers "The Snug wanted their name on this .
Quite surreally, we find a parallel between carbon foot prints and calorie footprints. whether this is anything to do with trick or treaters and the amount of sweets consumed is anyones guess.

We direct you to the new pics on our flickr page - seems we've had quite a flurry of activity recently

As we crest the last hillock of the show we do a special light and dark Tamara sings. Tamara gives us her genius rendition of "Snug Girls just wanna have fun" written by our favourite Snug Girls and then we follow it up with Tamara's Dark Side, CindyB doing her version of Tenacious Ds Explosivo. Quite astounding!!

How we got onto anally inserted Toblerone, we'll never know but, in an unrelated Jack Daniels incident, Lee starts to feel unwell (and, eventually, is sick after the show) so we end the show a little early.

How's that for a mental picutre to end the show notes :)

The One With Beth Ditto

Did you know there's actually such a thing as an Official National Dance. No, really...and apparently for Mexico it's the Hat Dance...which begs the question: What are the national dances for some other nations? We try guessing a few but why not drop us a line and tell us.
While you're at it...there are 5 fictional people who have stars on the Hollywood walk of fame..do you know who they are?

Tonights musical theme is 'songs you know by people you don't' featuring artists we've never heard of on the new BBC Radio 1 Album

Maf fills us in on his trip to the MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry) in Manchester at the weekend to visit a Dr Who Exhibit...if he can CBA he may upload some quick snaps. Head over to the Flickr page to find out.

We get a call from Canada to explain why there was no snugfans blog last week and get sent some pictures of poor Willows Face. While we can't actually show them to you, trust us they're quite gruesome.

Maf posts on the Snug Forum and asks for listener input on how the format of the show should change in May - Feel free to post your suggestions over there

We get introduced to...and then enamoured with, Beth Ditto from Gossip

It wouldn't be The Snug without some discussion of Tv, Films and DVDs and we mention
Cloverfield, Saw4, John Rambo, Blades of Glory, Borat
We also tell you to visit Apple trailers for all your future film advertisment needs

We end with a brief discussion on the merits of the girls from Smallville .

By the way, If you want to know whats happening to your favourite show I suggest TV.com ...if you're in any way interested in TV, you should pay them a visit

The One With Extras

After 1 day in work in 4 weeks, Lee dreams of quitting....give him a job

Maf discusses his recent visit to the Birmingham Sea Life and The Apollo Hotel that he was booked into. Here the story of late entry and the offer of 'extras'.

After Maf told everyone to not discuss Heroes last week, after previously telling everyone to keep up, we get a cheeky sound file from Tamara. This moves us deftly into current American TV - Pushing Daisies, Reaper (with it's Jack Black clone), Prison Break and Heroes (thanks T)

New listener Dave (fozs_nik_naks) mailed us and said
"I've not long found the show tho must say, it is really good, good job lads, also here is a song for ya to listen too - Link

The 'show' is only 15 minutes long this week as Lee is still ill and Maf can't get home in time for the show. It's the mini-guerrilla cast from the IT office at Alton Towers...no music and just Maf apologising for there being no show. We do cover a bit of email we've had this week but that's about it.

The One With No Lee

Pirate Dave joins us tonight as Lee finds himself tied up. Completely missing the convienient 2 week window left by Mafs Holiday, Naomi Kate Darcy White weighed in at 6lb 12oz on 6th September

We talk a little about Mafs Disney holiday (although you may hear about that for a couple of weeks to come) and we Skype the new father... Lee promises to film his vaesectomyfor Snug TV... and we hear about Daves snippy experiences. Maf just crosses his legs and says uuuh!

2 hours flies by without me taking a whole lot of notice to what went on...let's hope the Snugfans blog can cover my deficient show notes this week :)

Listener Feedback:

Holy cow! My week's have been empty without the Snug! I know you needed this holiday but it has been difficult for us! Sorry about the dely with the last two blogs. I've just gotten my laptop working again. We've all been sick too (3 weeks of feeling crappy!) So the blogs are coming soon! Thanks again Lee for listening to the F&T show, I knew you could BA'd!

August 16th - Show 165 - Podcast 80

The One With Sally

All participants of the Scope Opera appear to be on holiday this week and we hardly mention it at all. Hopefully lots of intriguing twists and turns will happen while we're away for 2 weeks.

Auntie Sally's in the house...so expect lots of talk about Abbey (the UK banking chain) and lots of silliness about IT helpdesks.

Maf wants to raffle his house...it seems so easy on the face of it, but Lee has experience in this field and pooh-poohs the idea. Sally provides us with a few Fascinating Food Facts in conjunction with an update on Lees Gym

Hopefully the Snugfans blog will be up to date soon and you'll be able to find out all the intricate details there

Comments: Your shows are intriguing, they are illogically entertaining. I enjoy listening to them and set aside time each week, although I have no idea why they are so compelling. I am not unfortunately, a rapper and I do not believe that having stars by your name necessarily suggests that either! Nor am I from any broadcasting authority.

Don't forget, The Snug is on it's holidays for the next 2 weeks but next week we have the long awaited third episode of The Fluffy & Tamara Show so check back here then for all that podcasty goodness
